The Seychelles Financial Services Authority has issued a warning about the platform HitBTC, accessible through hitbtc.com and allegedly operated by Hitechno Business Ltd. and HiTech Digital Business Ltd. The authority said the companies currently have no legal or operational nexus to Seychelles, despite claims on third-party websites, and neither is or has been authorized to operate in or from Seychelles under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024. The notice urges investors and the public to conduct due diligence before transacting or sharing personal information with virtual asset service providers. It also reminds consumers to verify whether a provider or virtual asset product is licensed or authorized in the jurisdiction from which it claims to operate, noting that the authority publishes on its website the register of authorized non-bank financial services providers, including virtual asset service providers, as well as registrations for initial coin offerings and non-fungible tokens.
