The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario has appointed the new members of its Technical Advisory Committee for the regulation of auto insurance rates and underwriting. The committee will provide strategic and technical input for the implementation of FSRA's new supervisory model, which the regulator links to a more principles-based, risk-based and outcomes-focused approach under its Auto Rates and Underwriting Regulation Strategy. The committee draws members from across the insurance sector and related organizations, with appointments made through a public call for applications based on leadership experience and subject-matter expertise. Its mandate is expected to be completed on or before Dec. 31, 2027.
