The Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency, in coordination with the Dominican College of Journalists and other sector bodies, held a seminar to help journalists explain the Dominican Pension System accurately. The training covered the system’s regulatory and institutional framework, pension fund investments, workers’ rights and retirement savings. Sessions addressed enrollment, contributions, individual capitalization accounts and transfers between pension fund administrators. They also covered investment risk, returns, diversification and supervision, as well as eligibility for old-age, disability, survivor and other pension benefits and the features of supplementary plans.
