The Cyprus Ministry of Finance has formalized the appointments of Giorgos Karatzias as chair and Loukas Lagoudis as vice chair of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission through the signing of their contracts. The appointments have been effective since Sept. 15, 2026. The commission operates as Cyprus’ independent capital markets supervisor and cooperates closely with the Ministry of Finance in exercising its statutory responsibilities.
