The Superintendency of the Securities Market of the Dominican Republic has hosted the 27th Annual Meeting of Authorities of the Council of the Ibero-American Institute of Securities Markets, bringing together supervisors, regulators and financial sector representatives from 15 jurisdictions. The meeting centered on strengthening regional regulatory cooperation, exchanging supervisory and market-development practices, and supporting more inclusive, transparent and efficient capital markets across the Ibero-American region. Discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities for developing the secondary market, including liquidity, the role of institutional investors, the creation of new financial instruments, market price formation, regional integration and capital market growth prospects. A separate session on regulatory trends addressed how to adapt international standards to local conditions, balance investor protection with market development, apply artificial intelligence in supervision, and strengthen corporate governance. The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the participating authorities' focus on modern regulatory frameworks and more dynamic and resilient securities markets.
