The Central Bank of Bolivia has certified 52 journalists who completed the second edition of its “Topics in central banking” workshop, held in January in La Paz, and plans to replicate the programme across the country over the course of the year. The three-day training, which carried curricular value, was delivered through sessions led by the central bank’s senior authorities to strengthen participants’ ability to communicate on central banking and economic issues. Covered topics included the role of the Central Bank of Bolivia, the current state and outlook for the national economy, Net International Reserves, gold purchases, the cash cycle, and security measures for the boliviano. The central bank indicated the workshop will be rolled out in other parts of Bolivia during the year.
