Open Banking Limited (OBL) has announced a new Open Innovation Exchange live forum for Open Banking Expo 2025, positioned in the OBL Lounge and designed to host open mic debates and discussions between start-ups, banks, regulators and technology leaders on how innovation and regulation intersect. The Open Innovation Exchange programme runs across 21 to 22 October and includes sessions on start-ups’ barriers to scaling, real-world adoption for SMEs and consumers, cross-industry collaboration themes such as digital identity and sustainability, the UK’s path from open banking to open finance, the innovation-regulation “balancing act”, and the internationalisation of the UK open banking model. OBL speakers also feature across the Expo’s main stages and themed shows, covering topics including a 2026 vision for impact, consent and control in smart data, “Open Banking 2.0” scaling, foundations for open innovation, AI and open banking, and fraud in real-time payments.
