The Central Bank of Cyprus has published updated aggregate non-performing loan (NPL) data for the Cyprus banking sector with a reference date of 31 January 2026. The sector’s NPL ratio, calculated in line with the European Banking Authority (EBA) Risk Matrix methodology and including loans and advances to central banks and credit institutions, remained unchanged at 1.6% compared with end-December 2025. The coverage ratio of non-performing exposures (NPEs) with bad debt provisions edged down to 62.2% from 62.3%. Total restructured loans stood at EUR 0.8 billion, of which EUR 0.3 billion remained classified within NPEs.
