The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) highlighted its supervisory role in Tanzania’s “Health Insurance for All” programme and committed to work with journalists to support accurate public information on health insurance. Speaking at a special workshop for editors in Dar es Salaam, Insurance Commissioner Dr Baghayo Saqware said TIRA would collaborate with the media to help them access correct information on universal health insurance, aligning with Health Minister Mohamed Mchengerwa’s call for journalists to educate citizens on insurance as a tool for managing unexpected shocks such as illness and to encourage enrolment.
