The Securities and Exchange Board of India has opened a local office in Chandigarh to support its activities across Punjab, Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The office will operate under the administrative control and jurisdiction of the regulator’s Northern Regional Office in New Delhi. Its functions include facilitating the resolution of investor grievances involving listed companies and market intermediaries, promoting investor education and financial literacy, and engaging with issuers. This outreach will cover areas including small and medium enterprises, social stock exchanges, municipal bonds and corporate bonds.
