The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission has issued a prohibitory order restraining Ms. Tania Sharmin, former Managing Director and CEO of CAPM Advisory Limited, from performing any duties or activities related to Bangladesh’s capital market in any capacity for five years. The order cites the Commission’s view that Sharmin’s prior activities in issue management for the initial public offering of Ring Shine Textile Limited constituted severe violations of the Securities and Exchange Ordinance, 1969 and could lead to further contraventions. The Commission also directed all current and future market intermediaries, listed and future listed companies, and other supervised business entities not to appoint her to any official duties for the same period.
