The Office of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions of Puerto Rico has launched the Financial Reporting System, or FIRE, as the new platform for submitting regulatory financial information. FIRE centralizes the submission, validation and management of regulatory data, with an initial soft launch running from October 1 to 15 and the current filing window remaining open through November 30, 2026. Financial institutions are expected to begin using FIRE during the soft launch to prepare and submit reports, test its functions and identify operational issues. The regulator will assess issues and feedback received under real operating conditions and determine whether platform adjustments or additional working sessions are needed. Updated instructions for individual reporting schedules are still being prepared. Institutions may use the previous instructions as an interim reference where requirements remain applicable, as the schedules generally retain their earlier structure and information requirements, subject to some modifications, segmentation and other adjustments introduced for FIRE.
