The Spanish Securities Commission (CNMV) announced that its president, Carlos San Basilio, has been appointed as a member of the Bureau of the OECD Corporate Governance Committee. The OECD Corporate Governance Committee aims to support economic efficiency, sustainable growth and financial stability by improving corporate governance policies and promoting good corporate practices. Its functions include coordinating the OECD’s work on corporate governance and corporate finance, contributing to implementation of the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance, and supporting dialogue with non-OECD economies through regional corporate governance roundtables with Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa. The committee comprises OECD members and invited countries, with the Financial Stability Board, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank participating as observers.
