The Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency has completed a comprehensive methodological update of the Dominican Pension System’s main statistics, revising the measures of affiliates, contributors and contribution density. At the end of July 2026, the revised methodology reduced total affiliates by 5.9% to 4,895,292, while increasing contributors to 2,437,079 from 2,336,342 and contribution density to 49.8% from 41.0%. The historical affiliate stock, including pensioners and deceased affiliates, was 5,690,909. The affiliate measure now excludes deceased individuals and those who have received old-age, advanced-age unemployment or disability benefits and are no longer potential contributors, while retaining pensioners who contributed during the reference month. For contributors, the update extends the period for capturing late payments from three contribution periods to 12 months after invoicing. The contribution-density calculation itself is unchanged, but its trend has shifted because of the revised affiliate and contributor data. Monthly statistics will be published as preliminary and may be revised, requiring users to verify and cite the latest update date when downloading data.
