The Angola Capital Markets Commission (CMC) hosted Angola’s Competition Regulatory Authority (ARC) for a workshop on “Competition and Economic Regulation”, positioning it as part of efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation and align approaches to economic regulation and competition. The session, held at the CMC’s premises on 22 August 2025 and aimed at the CMC’s technical teams, focused on sharing knowledge, aligning procedures and discussing best practices intended to support investor protection and market efficiency. The programme included opening remarks by the CMC’s Executive Administrator, Vasco Januário, followed by presentations on restrictive practices, competition assessment of public policies and merger control, with a question-and-answer segment. A follow-on exchange is scheduled for 12 September 2025 at the ARC’s premises, where CMC staff are expected to present on capital markets fundamentals and the CMC’s regulatory powers.
