The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) is hosting a technical visit by Mozambique's Insurance Supervision Institute (ISSM) from 20 to 29 January to share SUSEP’s experience with the Regulatory Sandbox, Open Insurance (OPIN) and the Operations Registration System (SRO), and to exchange approaches to technology-driven innovation in insurance supervision. SUSEP directors Júlia Lins, Jessica Bastos and Carlos Queiroz participated in the opening meeting. ISSM presented the Mozambican insurance market and a regulatory sandbox implemented under the Bank of Mozambique, while insurers with prior participation in SUSEP’s sandbox shared practical experience with the delegation; SUSEP also highlighted the Association of Lusophone Insurance Supervisors (ASEL) as a cooperation channel. During the remaining programme, ISSM will hold technical sessions with SUSEP staff on how the sandbox, OPIN and SRO function and on supervision techniques based on intensive use of technology.
