The State Bank of Vietnam hosted a working meeting between Deputy Governor Pham Quang Dung and Citibank South Asia Chief Executive Officer Amol Gupte, exchanging views on the 2026 global and regional economic backdrop and key issues expected to affect Vietnam and the wider region. Citibank also briefed the central bank on its business strategy and ongoing global restructuring. The State Bank of Vietnam highlighted Citibank’s more than 30-year presence in Vietnam and its two commercial locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, linking the bank’s activities to supporting Vietnam–US investment and trade, servicing multinational investors, and facilitating cross-border payments. It also pointed to Citibank’s role as a financial partner to major Vietnamese state and private groups and its execution of large capital markets and financing transactions, including arranging domestic and international borrowing for entities such as Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation, Viettel and Vingroup, while Citibank indicated it was ready to continue bringing innovative financial solutions to Vietnam.
