The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority published its quarterly superannuation performance statistics for the September 2025 quarter, showing total superannuation assets increased 3.0% over the quarter to AUD 4,466.5 billion as at 30 September 2025, including AUD 3,151.5 billion in APRA-regulated funds. Compared with September 2024, total assets were up 9.4%, with APRA-regulated assets up 11.4% and self-managed super fund assets rising 4.8% to AUD 1,073.4 billion. Exempt public sector superannuation scheme assets increased 5.7% to AUD 181.4 billion and the balance of life office statutory fund assets grew 5.1% to AUD 60.2 billion. For entities with more than six members, total contributions for the year to September 2025 rose 12.7% to AUD 215.6 billion, comprising employer contributions of AUD 153.2 billion and member contributions of AUD 62.4 billion, while benefit payments increased 12.7% to AUD 136.2 billion, including lump sum payments of AUD 75.3 billion and pension payments of AUD 60.9 billion. Net contribution flows were AUD 71.3 billion, up 8.1%, calculated as contributions plus net benefit transfers less benefit payments.
