The Central Bank of Solomon Islands has launched the Instant Funds Transfer service, making faster transfers between customers of participating banks available through the Solomon Islands Automated Transfer System. The service is operational with a maximum limit of SBD 5,000 per customer transaction, which will be reviewed as the system develops. Participating banks must follow the system’s business rules for processing transactions, resolving problems and meeting their responsibilities. They must also continue to meet anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism obligations, including monitoring for attempts to split larger payments into smaller transactions to evade controls.
