The National Bank of Kazakhstan announced that it will put into circulation five types of bicolor coins under the “Animal World of Kazakhstan” series, depicting rare animals: AQBÓKEN (Akboken), ARQAR (Arkar), BARYS (Barys), DÝADAQ (Duadak) and SUNQAR (Sunkar). The total planned mintage is 15,000,000 coins, with 3,000,000 pieces of each design. The coins are minted from a nibrass and nickel silver mixture, produced in uncirculated quality, with a face value of KZT 100, a weight of 6.45 grams and a diameter of 24.5 mm. They will be issued into free and cash circulation through second-tier banks alongside existing circulating coinage, and must be accepted across Kazakhstan for all types of payments at face value, as well as credited to bank accounts, exchanged and withdrawn from circulation. The coins were minted at the Palace of Tenge of Kazakhstan.
