The Sustainable Banking and Finance Network (SBFN) announced that the Moldovan Banks Association (ABM) has joined the network, marking SBFN’s 100th member and expanding its membership base to 100 organisations across 72 countries. ABM is a nonprofit banking-sector association in Moldova and has been involved in sustainable finance capacity-building and dialogue, including participation in a March 2024 training-of-trainers programme on sustainable finance and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) hosted by the IFC ESG Advisory Program and SBFN with the Banking Association of Georgia. The association also participates in Moldova’s interagency steering committee on climate finance and in the Sustainable Finance Working Group established by the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) to support implementation of NBM’s Sustainable Finance Roadmap adopted in May 2024; NBM itself joined SBFN in November 2023.
