The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that its Issyk-Kul regional office held a series of educational and cultural activities as part of Global Money Week 2026, aimed at promoting financial literacy and public awareness of the national currency. Guest lectures were organised for senior students at the H. Karasaev Kyrgyz-Turkish Lyceum in Karakol, covering financial planning, making payments using QR codes, countering dropper activity, and the history of the Kyrgyz som. The regional office also hosted a numismatic exhibition of the National Bank’s collectible coins, allowing residents to follow key stages in the development of the national currency and review its security features.
