The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission held the “Insure Connect Fair: Craft Life, Save Money, Protect the Future” in Chiang Mai to raise insurance literacy across age groups and make insurance easier to understand and apply in everyday financial and risk planning. Chiang Mai was selected as a northern economic, education, tourism, and creative hub with a large SME base, alongside reported growth in provincial gross product of 12.5% in 2023 and an increase in total insurance premiums from around THB 18.8bn in 2023 to about THB 19.9bn in 2024 (5.9%). The event at Jing Jai Market, described as attracting more than 1.6 million visitors per year and generating over THB 500m annually for the local economy, combined insurer and local business booths, an “Insurance Rally”, keynote and panel discussions with industry and partner organisations (including the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce, the Thai Life Assurance Association, the Life Insurance Agents and Financial Advisors Association, and the Bank of Thailand), workshops on saving and planning, youth-focused insurance activities, basic first-aid demonstrations, and a CSR donation of medical equipment to local health facilities.
