The National Bank of Moldova published March 2026 monetary statistics showing a rise in the broad monetary base to MDL 83,419 million, up 3.7% from February, while broad money (M3) increased to MDL 196,276 million, up 0.9% month on month. Bank deposits totalled MDL 144,933 million, up 1.1%, reflecting a 0.5% increase in deposits in national currency and a 2.3% increase in foreign-currency deposits. Claims on the economy rose to MDL 110,535 million, up 3.2%, with national-currency claims up 2.5% and foreign-currency claims (expressed in MDL) up 5.3%; in EUR terms, foreign-currency claims stood at EUR 1,314 million, up 4.9%.
