The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), in cooperation with the Union of Arab Securities Authorities (UASA), has launched a three-day training programme in Doha titled “Investment in Bonds” to strengthen fixed-income market knowledge and professional capacity across the financial sector. Delivered by a Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI)-accredited expert, the programme covers bond fundamentals, pricing and yield analysis, and risk management, alongside practical work on cash flow structuring and interest rate sensitivity. Day one addresses bond mechanics, return types, cash flow structures, trading venues, risks, and credit ratings; day two focuses on yield curves, time value of money, bond pricing including clean versus dirty price, and securitisation topics such as special purpose vehicles (SPVs), mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and asset-backed securities (ABS); day three covers fixed-income derivatives and portfolio strategies, including futures and forwards, interest rate swaps (IRS) and credit default swaps (CDS). The programme targets mid- to advanced-level professionals across banks, investment firms, exchanges and other capital markets entities, and concludes with a participation certificate issued jointly by QFMA and UASA.
