The Malaysia Securities Commission announced the appointment of Datuk Manoj Kurup as Executive Director, Enforcement, effective 8 April 2026, succeeding Budiman Lutfi Mohamed. The leadership change follows Budiman’s appointment as a judicial commissioner of the High Court of Malaya on 1 April 2026. Kurup brings over three decades of experience across the judiciary and public prosecution and most recently served as Head of the Prosecution Division at the Attorney-General’s Chambers before retiring in 2024, having also led its Appeals Division. His background includes participation in the Malaysian prosecution team investigating the Malaysia Airlines MH17 tragedy and serving as a board member of the Malaysian Highway Authority, alongside legal and mediation qualifications.
