The Hong Kong Insurance Authority and the Hong Kong Police Force conducted a joint enforcement operation against suspected fraudulent practices at an examination center offering the Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) qualification granted by LOMA. The operation covered nine locations and involved 15 arrests, including three active and three former licensed insurance intermediaries. Citing indications that the suspected practices had persisted without effective oversight by LOMA, the Insurance Authority immediately suspended FLMI as a qualification satisfying the education requirement for insurance intermediary licensing. It will also review all cases in which candidates obtained the qualification through the examination center.
