The Parliamentary Supervisory Council has proposed to the Government that Olli Rehn, the current Chair of the Board of the Bank of Finland, be appointed for a second term starting 12 July 2025. The Chair of the Board serves as Governor of the Bank of Finland, and Rehn has held the post since 2018. The appointment will be made by the President of the Republic following a proposal from the Government. The Governor’s term of office is seven years and a second term is permitted; the vacancy attracted eight applications.

The Parliamentary Supervisory Council has recommended Olli Rehn for a second term as Chair of the Board and Governor of the Bank of Finland, starting 12 July 2025. The appointment, following a proposal from the Government, will be made by the President of the Republic. Rehn has served as Governor since 2018, with the position allowing for a seven-year term and a second term.
