The Hong Kong Monetary Authority welcomed the launch of a direct link between Hong Kong’s Central Moneymarkets Unit and Switzerland’s SIX, giving CMU members direct access to securities in the Swiss and Spanish markets. The launch also introduces CMU OmniClear’s equity post-trade services for the first time, expanding CMU beyond its established role in fixed-income securities. The developments support CMU’s transformation into a multi-asset post-trade securities infrastructure and allow investors to manage more diversified portfolios through its services. CMU, Hong Kong’s central securities depository infrastructure, held assets exceeding HKD 5.5 trillion equivalent at the end of June 2026 and plans to continue expanding its international network and service offerings.
