The Securities Commission Malaysia, together with Bursa Malaysia, has introduced the MY Value Up Programme, a joint initiative intended to help Malaysian public-listed companies (PLCs) strengthen long-term value creation and become more globally attractive investment propositions. Aligned with the Capital Market Masterplan 2026–2030, the programme emphasises more proactive communication of growth narratives through clearer disclosure of mid- to long-term strategies. The launch was accompanied by an engagement session with chairpersons and C-suite executives from 88 selected PLCs and capital market industry leaders. The selected cohort represents 80% of the market capitalisation of companies listed on Bursa Malaysia, with each company having a minimum market capitalisation of approximately RM4 billion. MY Value Up seeks to strengthen market signals through clearer articulation of strategy, stronger performance discipline and deeper engagement with domestic and regional investors, supporting more forward-looking disclosures, investor confidence and price discovery. Follow-on technical workshops are planned to gather feedback from participating PLCs and shape the programme. A guidebook setting out expectations under MY Value Up is due to be released in the first half of the year.
