The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) reported that Insurance Commissioner Dr Baghayo Saqware, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Khadija Said, visited TIRA’s Pemba Zone on 26 November 2025 to review regional supervisory activities, including progress in identifying and registering health service providers supporting health insurance schemes. The visit forms part of a wider series of regional engagements, with Saqware indicating he has visited eight zones in under a month to observe performance in the oversight of health insurance schemes, identify operational challenges, and develop strategies to address them. Pemba Zone Manager Sharifu Hamadi said the zone is continuing on-site visits and outreach to health facilities to identify and register health service providers (HSPs) that serve members and beneficiaries of health insurance schemes.
