The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority announced that its chairman, Mohamed Farid, has instructed the Egyptian Pool for Compulsory Insurance for Civil Liability arising from road vehicle accidents to take all steps to speed up compensation payments to the heirs of those who died and to those injured in the accident on the Regional Ring Road, in line with the Unified Insurance Law. Under the Unified Insurance Law, the pool pays EGP 100,000 for each death, while compensation for injuries is determined based on the disability percentage assessed by the medical committee. The pool was told to contact victims’ families and injured parties immediately, receive their inquiries, and complete the required procedures so that statutory insurance amounts can be paid as quickly as possible once accident documentation is received, reviewed, and claims are settled.
