The National Bank of Georgia reported that the country’s net international investment position stood at negative USD 32.4 billion, or GEL 85.8 billion, as of June 30, 2026. The position deteriorated by USD 265.2 million from the previous quarter, although its ratio to gross domestic product narrowed to negative 79.7% from negative 81.5% as of March 31. Total international assets increased by USD 1.3 billion during the quarter to USD 22.2 billion, or GEL 58.6 billion. Total international liabilities rose by USD 1.6 billion to USD 54.6 billion, or GEL 144.4 billion.
