The Slovenia Insurance Supervision Agency published an update on plans to bring the InsurTech Israel ecosystem to Ljubljana, with InsurTech Israel indicating it is working toward launching “InsurTech Ljubljana” in 2025 as an accelerator and collaboration platform for insurance innovation. The update follows an early April visit to Ljubljana by InsurTech Israel chief executive Kobi Bendelak and investment advisory expert Dr Yael Benvenisti, who presented growth and cooperation opportunities to Slovenian insurance leaders and discussed the intended expansion with regulators and insurers. InsurTech Israel described its operating model across four pillars, accelerator, investments, business development and global connectivity, and pointed to its mentorship and acceleration programme and links with partners including Deloitte and Microsoft. The planned Slovenia activities cited include tailored acceleration programmes, insurer start-up pilots, knowledge-sharing events and mentorship, with the future ecosystem expected to offer network access, business development support, pilot opportunities, workshops and international conference exposure. InsurTech Israel indicated the first phase in Slovenia would focus on building a local innovation community and organising events, followed by a start-up programme delivered with local and international partners.
