The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Federal Reserve Board and Bank of England conducted a tabletop exercise on Sept. 3 covering the hypothetical resolution of central counterparties. Senior officials reviewed joint arrangements for information sharing and communications intended to support financial stability during a resolution. The exercise formed part of a series of senior-level meetings held since 2017. Participants emphasized continued dialogue, analysis sharing and policy discussions between U.S. and UK authorities on central counterparty resolution.
