The Saudi Central Bank has revoked Marta Financial Company’s licence to provide payment services as a micro payment institution in Saudi Arabia after determining that the company did not meet licensing requirements under the Implementing Regulations of the Payments and Payment Services Law. The decision was based on subparagraph (d) of paragraph (1) of article 21 of the implementing regulations, due to the company’s failure to satisfy the requirements set out in paragraph (4) of article 17. Stakeholders with existing rights or claims were directed to refer to the company, and the central bank reiterated that customers should deal only with authorized financial institutions listed on its official website.
