The Hong Kong Insurance Authority has issued a public alert about a fraudulent website, “hxxps://aiahk88[.]com”, that purports to be the official site of Hong Kong authorized insurer AIA International Limited. The authority said the site appears intended to obtain customers’ login details, and AIA has confirmed it has no connection with the website. The matter has been reported to the Hong Kong Police Force for investigation, and individuals who provided personal information or conducted insurance transactions via the site are advised to contact AIA and report the case to the police. The Insurance Authority also pointed to its Register of Authorized Insurers as the source for the official list and contact details of authorized insurers in Hong Kong.
