The Central Bank of Chile reported that the preliminary Monthly Economic Activity Index, or Imacec, grew 2.4% year over year in June 2026. The seasonally adjusted index rose 0.6% from May and 1.4% over 12 months. June had one more working day than the same month in 2025. Mining, services and trade drove both annual and seasonally adjusted growth. Goods production rose 3.9% year over year, led by copper mining, while trade increased 5.4% and services gained 1.7%. Nonmining Imacec grew 1.4% annually and 0.1% from May on a seasonally adjusted basis. Preliminary gross domestic product results for the second quarter, alongside revisions to first-quarter figures, are scheduled for release on Aug. 18.
