Angola's Ministry of Finance published an update on RECREDIT’s recoveries through June 2026, showing that the state asset manager recovered AOA 28.19 billion, or 94% of its AOA 30 billion target for the year. Transfers of assets in lieu of payment accounted for 53% of recoveries, credit offsets for 28% and cash payments for 19%. RECREDIT’s acquired loan portfolio comprises 476 cases with an acquisition cost of AOA 288.19 billion. Payment agreements are in place for 65 cases representing 63% of the portfolio’s value, or AOA 180.75 billion, while 279 cases representing 4% remain under negotiation. Another 43 cases, equal to 3% of the portfolio and AOA 8.03 billion, have been fully settled. The remaining 88 cases are subject to legal proceedings and represent about 29% of the portfolio, with a book value of AOA 84.08 billion and gross value of AOA 422.59 billion.
