The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan discussed expanding bilateral banking cooperation with India during a meeting between Chairman Firdavs Tolibzoda and Indian Ambassador Rajesh Uike. The talks covered payment systems, digital financial services, financial inclusion, banking and insurance supervision, and closer cooperation and knowledge exchange with the Reserve Bank of India. The parties also considered establishing direct links between commercial banks, expanding correspondent banking relationships and improving conditions for cross-border payments. Tolibzoda highlighted Tajikistan’s interest in participation by Indian financial institutions and investors in developing the country’s banking and financial sectors.
