The Central Bank of Venezuela reported that its acting president, Luis Alberto Pérez González, held his first official working meeting with the institution’s Board to assess key developments in the foreign exchange and monetary markets and to review the central bank’s action priorities for the year. Discussions covered the main challenges for monetary and exchange-rate policy and actions aimed at strengthening the national currency in a context of informal dollarization. The meeting included directors Christian Martell Ramírez, Carlos Cestari Infantini, and Santiago Armando Lazo Ortega.
