The European Commission has launched a call for applications to join the third Platform on Sustainable Finance, an expert advisory body bringing together private- and public-sector specialists to advise on the EU taxonomy and the wider EU sustainable finance framework. The platform will be consulted on the Commission’s review of the technical screening criteria in the Taxonomy Climate and Environmental Delegated Acts, which was announced in the February 2025 Omnibus package to improve usability and coherence. It will also advise on developing criteria for additional economic activities that could be added to the taxonomy and support the Commission’s ongoing work on transition finance. The platform will have up to 35 members, with up to 28 selected through the call for applications and seven permanent members appointed directly by the Commission to represent public entities; other individuals and organisations, as well as public entities other than Member State authorities, may be granted observer status. Applications are open until 7 September 2025.
