The Central Bank of Syria has begun accepting electronic applications to withdraw old Syrian currency, alongside in-person withdrawals through Syrian Post outlets across all provinces. After surrendering the old currency and completing the required procedures, applicants will receive the equivalent value in new Syrian currency through a transfer to their nominated bank account, without commissions, fees, taxes or expenses. The process is available only to Syrian citizens and equivalent-status natural persons, excluding legal entities. Applicants may submit one request during the withdrawal phase, with no limit on the number or denominations of banknotes. The online platform allows applicants to book an appointment, with details sent by SMS when slots are available. In Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa and Hasakah, direct withdrawals also remain available through Central Bank branches and approved Syrian Post outlets.
