Ecuador's Superintendency of Banks formalised an academic cooperation agreement with Espíritu Santo University (UEES) in Guayaquil to support joint projects that expand training opportunities for the supervisor’s staff and bring supervisory expertise into university teaching. Under the agreement signed by Superintendent Roberto Romero von Buchwald, SB employees will be able to access UEES undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, certifications, diploma courses and executive education. UEES will also incorporate the technical experience of SB personnel into its classrooms to provide a practical perspective on financial supervision. During the visit, the Superintendent delivered a masterclass to students in business, entrepreneurship, economics and law covering topics including savings, how the financial system functions, the role of oversight bodies, SB customer service channels and the process for submitting complaints.
