The Luxembourg Ministry of Finance, Ministry of the Economy, National Credit and Investment Institution and European Investment Fund have launched the EUR 270 million Luxembourg Future Fund 3. Structured as a fund of funds, the program will expand financing for startups, scaleups and small and medium-sized enterprises by investing in venture capital, private equity and private debt funds. The National Credit and Investment Institution will contribute EUR 180 million and the European Investment Fund EUR 90 million. The program will target specialized and multisector funds focused on high-growth areas including cybertech, deeptech, fintech, healthtech, proptech, spacetech, green and clean technologies, and transport. It will primarily support investment funds established in Luxembourg whose investment teams are based there or commit to relocating. Unlike the first two programs, which were managed entirely by the European Investment Fund, the National Credit and Investment Institution will participate directly in investment decisions and invest in its own name while retaining the European Investment Fund’s institutional expertise.
