The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM), through its Superintendence of Market and Intermediary Relations (SMI), issued a market alert and ordered the immediate suspension of public offers of securities intermediation services by Trinota Markets (Global) Limited, Harindale LTD and Oryx Finance Limited, which were allegedly targeting Brazilian residents via m4markets.com. CVM technical staff identified indications that the firms were seeking to solicit clients in Brazil for securities transactions despite not being authorised by CVM to intermediate securities or to raise investors’ funds for investment in securities. The companies are described as claiming regulation by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and the Dubai Financial Services Authority, respectively, and the suspension was set out in Declaratory Act CVM 24,852.
