The committee is convened by the BSEC Chair and includes the BSEC Commissioner (Law), nominated representatives from the Islamic Arabic University, Befaqul Madarisil Arabia, the University of Dhaka Department of Finance, the Islamic University (Kushtia) Department of Theology and Islamic Studies, Islamic Foundation Bangladesh, the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque (or nominee), and the Chairman of the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh (or nominee). The Convener of the Shari'ah Advisory Council Secretariat at BSEC serves as member secretary. The committee must submit a list of potential council members to the Commission within 30 working days, after which BSEC will take the necessary steps to constitute the Shari'ah Advisory Council.
