The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) announced five senior leadership appointments, naming leaders for the Division of Risk Management Supervision, the Office of the General Counsel, the Chairman’s policy function, a Special Advisor role, and the Ombudsman. Ryan Billingsley was appointed Director of the FDIC’s Division of Risk Management Supervision, overseeing safety and soundness examination and supervision of insured commercial banks and savings institutions, after serving as Acting Director since March 2025. Matthew P. Reed was named FDIC General Counsel following service as Acting General Counsel since January 2025. Alex LePore was appointed Deputy to the Chairman for Policy to oversee development and execution of regulatory initiatives and coordinate on policy matters, while Mark L. Handzlik was appointed Special Advisor to the Chairman to provide policy analysis, policy development support, and strategic counsel. Dan Marcotte was appointed FDIC Ombudsman, serving as an independent, neutral, and confidential liaison for stakeholders experiencing problems with the FDIC’s supervisory, examination, or resolution activities, after serving as Acting Ombudsman since May 2025.
