Moldova's National Commission for Financial Markets took part in the autumn session of the Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe Insurance Supervision Initiative (CESEE-ISI), represented by vice-president Adrian Gheorghița. The meeting brought together regulatory and supervisory authorities from more than 15 European countries to discuss current trends and challenges in insurance markets. Key topics covered included insurance consumer protection, qualification and professional ethics requirements, prevention and management of conflicts of interest, and challenges in motor insurance, including compulsory third-party liability (RCA) and CASCO. CESEE-ISI, launched in 2011 at the initiative of the Austrian and Hungarian supervisory authorities, aims to strengthen cross-border supervisory cooperation through exchange of best practices and experience and the harmonisation of regulatory standards; the National Commission for Financial Markets linked its participation to aligning national supervision with European practices and strengthening capabilities in areas such as consumer protection and risk-based supervision.
