Dubai International Financial Centre said Varenne Capital Partners has opened a new office in the centre through Varenne Capital Ltd, a wholly owned United Arab Emirates subsidiary regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority. The move marks the European firm's expansion into the Emirates and adds another asset manager to DIFC's financial community. The new operation will be led by Giacomo de Nardis, who has worked at Varenne Capital for more than 15 years and will serve as senior executive officer and director of Varenne Capital Ltd. In presenting the announcement, DIFC positioned the opening as part of its role as a regional hub for internationally regulated financial firms, noting that it hosts more than 8,800 active registered companies and over 550 wealth and asset management firms.
